Since 2007, the congregation has collected presents for children whose fathers are in Saughton Prison, Edinburgh. In this situation, the families suffer, incurring visiting expenses and receiving no extra benefits; also, men on remand need money from families to provide extras. Christmas presents come well down the list. The Family Support Unit gives us the names and ages of 12 children and members of the congregation respond generously by buying presents for them.
